Terms and Conditions for the Firelight Light the Night Boat Display: People’s Choice Award promotion (‘Promotion’)
By entering the Promotion you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The Promotion is being run by Melbourne City Council (‘Council’), ABN 55 370 219 287, 120 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
- By participating in the Promotion you accept these Terms and Conditions and the terms and conditions of the supplier of the prizes.
- Information about how to participate and details of the prize offered will be published on Council’s Firelight website.
- The Promotion will run for 3 days. There will be one prize draw consisting of one prize of a $200 Moon Dog Doglands gift card.
- Employees or immediate family members of an employee of the Council or its contractors are ineligible to enter.
- The prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash and are subject to any terms and conditions imposed by each of the contributing businesses. Each prize must be redeemed within the period stated. The winner must pay for all purchases that exceed the prize values.
- If a winner does not claim their prize within 28 days after being notified (refer to Clause 20), the prize will be forfeited and a new winner may be chosen or drawn.
- Gift card will be sent directly to the prize winners via post.
- The Council reserves the right to alter or amend the Promotion terms and conditions, including to extend the Promotion, at any time, and to cancel the Promotion without further recourse to the entrants.
- Council is not liable for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by an entrant or third party, including but not limited to, direct or consequential loss, as a result of entering or participating in the Promotion including cancelling the Promotion, or in connection with the redemption or use of any prize.
- Any personal information collected by Council will be treated in accordance with Council’s Privacy Policy.
- To enter the Promotion, you must complete the entry via Council’s Firelight website during the Promotion period as stated in clause 15. You must provide your name, email, and boat choice to enter the draw (‘Valid Entry’).
- By entering the Promotion, you agree for the Council to use your name and details to contact you for participation in a post-event survey, and you consent to such use. Entrants may direct any request to access their personal information to the Council.
- Where you have opted-in on your entry form, the Council will use your name and email address to subscribe you to the What’s On Melbourne newsletter database to notify you of events and activities held within the City of Melbourne, with the ability to unsubscribe from the newsletter database if you no longer wish the Council to retain your details for this purpose. Any personal information added to the newsletter database will be treated in accordance with What’s On Melbourne’s Privacy Policy.
- To be eligible for the Promotion, a Valid Entry must be received between 5pm Friday 4 July 2025 and 10pm Sunday 6 July 20025.
- Entrants must be 18 years or over.
- Entrants are permitted one entry. An entrant may not submit an entry on behalf of someone else.
- Winners will be selected by random computer generated system and must meet all eligibility criteria as stated in clauses 12, 15 and 16 above.
- Winners will be drawn on Monday 7 July 2025 by a Council representative. The Council’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Winners will be contacted by email within three business days of the draw closing. Winners’ first initial and last names will be published on Council’s Firelight website after the competition is drawn and the winners have claimed their prizes.
- The Council reserves the right to request proof of age and identity of the winner before awarding the prize and if the Council determines that the winner is ineligible, the winner automatically forfeits the prize and a new winner may be selected.
- The Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries and will determine if an entry is eligible at its absolute discretion with no legal liability.
- The Council may change the prize at its absolute discretion for a prize of approximate equal or greater retail value with no legal liability.
- To the full extent permitted by the law, the Council excludes liability for any loss, damage, malfunction, injury or death whatsoever suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity, revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion.
- The Council will not disclose your information to any other external party without your consent, unless required or authorised by law.
