Getting to the festival

We’re in Docklands on Victoria Harbour Promenade and New Quay Promenade. Public transport is available via the 11, 30, 35, 48, 70, 75 and 86 tram routes, or a 10 minute walk from Southern Cross Station. Parking is available in paid car parks or via limited on-street parking.

Score $5 parking at more than thirty car parks across the city, weeknights from 4pm and anytime on weekends. Use code FOMO21 to book online or via the apps, at participating Secure and Wilson Parking car parks. Terms and conditions apply.

Coming from the Bellarine Peninsula? Take the ferry from Geelong or Portarlington direct to Docklands.

Bookings

Firelight Festival is a free event but bookings are essential. Due to COVID-19 safety requirements, this year the festival will be held across two sites with no access between the two.

There is no timed entry, tickets allow entry any time from 5:30pm.

The Walk Watcher

Look out for the TAC Walk Watcher, a pop-up pedestrian crossing where hilarious crossing guards will call out good pedestrian behaviour as Firelight Festival-goers meander around the Promenades.

The TAC will also be giving away reflective slap bands and bike lights to those who Walk with Care.

Firelight Festival and most program activities are wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets are located on both sites. If you are taking public transport to the event, low floor trams and accessible stops are available on routes 11 (Collins St) and 86 (Bourke St) from the city to Docklands. The Firelight Festival site can be noisy and overwhelming for our furry friends, so please leave your pets at home. Assistive animals and Guide Dogs are welcome.

Firelight Festival is a smoke free event. Visitors will need to exit the event site to smoke.

Bike and pedestrian changes

Bike and pedestrian changes

The cycling path along Harbour Esplanade will remain open and unobstructed throughout the event times. The lower levels of New Quay Promenade and Victoria Harbour Promenade will be fenced off during Firelight Festival and access to the event will only be available at designated entry points. Outside of the event times, breaks in the fencing will be made to allow pedestrian access through both sites.

There will be road closures on Harbour Esplanade between Bourke Street and La Trobe Street, and on Merchant Street from Hubbock Lane to Victoria Harbour Promenade.

Firelight Festival will go ahead rain, hail or shine, so make sure you rug up.

Fireworks

Fireworks

Fireworks will not be part of this year’s Firelight Festival. Instead, the water and light show will run four times each night.
