Terms and Conditions for the Beijing Capital Airlines Firelight Festival competition (‘Competition’)
By entering the Promotion you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  1. This competition is being run by City of Melbourne (ABN: 55 370 219 287).
  2. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions and will be published on the Firelight website.
  3. Entry is open to all persons over the age of 18.
  4. By entering the Beijing Capital Airlines competition (competition), you accept these terms and conditions.
  5. To enter the competition; you must:
    • Visit Firelight Festival between 28-30 June, 2024 during its open hours and locate the entry QR code located within the Firelight Festival event site on the BCA competition signage-or roving Beijing Capital Airlines Brand Ambassadors;
    • Scan the QR code to obtain the entry form; and
    • Complete the entry form and provide valid contact information (name, email address and/or phone number) (valid entry).
  6. Employees of City of Melbourne and Beijing Capital Airlines, associated contractors, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  7. An entrant may not submit an entry on behalf of someone else.
  8. The competition commences at 5PM on Friday 28 June 2024 and ends 10PM on Sunday 30 June 2024 (Promotional Period).
  9. To go into the draw for the prize you must submit a valid entry during the Promotional Period.
  10. There will be one prize and one prize winner. The prize is Four (4) x return economy class tickets from Melbourne to Qingdao or Hangzhou, China by Beijing Capital Airlines only.
  11. The winner can only select one destination to travel to; either Melbourne to Qingdao or Melbourne to Hangzhou. All four tickets must be booked at the same time and travel on the same dates.
  12. City of Melbourne will randomly draw via an electronic random draw system, one winner on Thursday 4 July 2024, from the valid entries. The name of the winner will be published on the Firelight website on acceptance of the prize, which for the purpose of clarity, may be after the draw date.
  13. City of Melbourne will notify the prize winner via the phone number and email address supplied in their entry with details on how to claim their prize. The prize winner will be contacted after the draw on Thursday 4 July 2024.
  14. If the winner does not claim their prize within ten (10) business days after being notified (refer to Clause 12), or is unable to travel during the travel dates, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner may be chosen or drawn.
  15. The maximum prize value outlined in Clause 10 will not exceed AUD$14,200 inc GST, airline taxes and luggage.
  16. Accommodation, spending money, meals, taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes), insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transport to and from departure point, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included.
  17. The prize tickets are not changeable, reroutable, endorsable, transferrable nor refundable after they have been issued by Beijing Capital Airlines.
  18. Travel dates are: Flight date: 4 July 2024 – 25 March, 2025 and subject to availability. Blackout dates are from 28 September 2024 – 10 October 2024 and 26 November 2024 – 28 December 2024 for inbound and outbound flights.
  19. City of Melbourne will provide the winner’s name and email address to Beijing Capital Airlines to enable them to verify the identity of the prize winner. Accordingly, to claim a prize the winner must ensure that they use the same email address as the one supplied with their entry form.
  20. To redeem prize and enquire about availability, reservation or ticketing, City of Melbourne will connect both the winner and a representative from Beijing Capital Airline via email. From this point, it is the responsibility of the prize winner and airline representative to continue the booking process between one another.
  21. The winner is responsible for obtaining all necessary valid travel documents (ie. Passport, visa, travel insurance) and any relevant compliances with all health or other government regulations. Travel related costs are at the expense of and arrangements of the traveller.
  22. To the full extent permitted by the law, City of Melbourne excludes liability for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity, revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion.
  23. City of Melbourne reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify any individual who City of Melbourne has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct or who submits an invalid entry.
  24. City of Melbourne reserves the right to cancel the competition without further recourse to the entrants.
  25. City of Melbourne is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer, online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, including any injury or damage to participants resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.
  26. All entries are the property of City of Melbourne. Any personal information collected by City of Melbourne will be treated in accordance with City of Melbourne’s What’s On Privacy Policy subject to these terms and conditions.
  27. City of Melbourne reserves the right to request proof of age and identity of the winner before awarding the prize and if City of Melbourne determines that the winner is ineligible, the winner automatically forfeits the prize and a new winner may be selected.
  28. City of Melbourne accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries and will determine if an entry is eligible at its absolute discretion with no legal liability.
  29. City of Melbourne may change the package prize at its absolute discretion for a prize of approximate equal or greater retail value with no legal liability.
  30. Where entrants have opted-in on the entry form, City of Melbourne will provide the entrant’s name and email address to Beijing Capital Airlines for the purpose of sending future marketing or promotional offers, which includes signing up to Beijing Capital Airlines newsletter database to notify of future promotional offers. Please ensure you have read Beijing Capital Airlines Privacy Policy for more information on how Beijing Capital Airlines holds and stores your details.
  31. City of Melbourne will not disclose your information to any external party without your consent, unless required or authorised by law. By opting in on the entry form to receive further information from Beijing Capital Airlines, this constitutes as consent.
